To make a perfect cocktail requires the knowledge of how to use some simple pieces of equipment which are especially designed to manufacture any drink in accordance to its requirements. For example, a translucent drink containing spirit and liqueur, will only need to be gently stirred using a mixing glass, where as a drink using dairy product may need the more aggressive cocktail shaker. Fruits such as banana, strawberries, pineapple or the like will require the electric bar blender to puree the ingredients. A good bartender or drinks mixer will know exactly what equipment is necessary to use in accordance to the ingredients.
