LIQUEURS
A liqueur is an alcoholic beverage made from a distilled spirit that has been flavoured with fruit, cream, herbs, spices or nuts, and bottled with added sugar or other sweetener such as high-fructose corn syrup. Liqueurs are typically quite sweet; they are usually not aged for long after the ingredients are mixed, but may have resting periods during their production to allow flavours to marry. Some liqueurs contain digestive properties and are ideal for having with coffee after a meal.



Fruit Liqueurs
ALC/VOL = 30% - 38% Alcohol

Sambuca is an Italian anise-flavoured, usually colourless, liqueur. Its most common variety is often referred to as white sambuca to differentiate it from other varieties that are deep blue in colour (black sambuca) or bright red (red sambuca). Like other anise-flavoured liqueurs, the ouzo effect is sometimes observed when combined with water.

Nut Liqueurs

During the 1990s Galliano produced three different flavoured Sambuca's and only test marketed them in Australia. These flavours were, orange (blue in colour), Mint, (green in colour), and cherry (red in colour), but unfortunately, it was unsuccessful. However, I found a great way of selling the product was by simply making "Hotshots". Create a normal hotshot, replacing the Galliano Liqueur for one of the different flavours and you can bet it will cause a sensational "knock-on-affect once you start serving. Everyone wants to try them all.
Because these flavours are no longer available, I suggest that you add one measure (30ml) of an appropriate liqueur to a 700ml white sambuca bottle to give it the touch of flavour and colour.
Don't forget to include the original Galliano Hotshot in your range.

Galliano

Liquore Galliano L'Autentico, known more commonly as Galliano, is a sweet herbal liqueur, created in 1896 by Italian distiller and brandy producer Arturo Vaccari of Livorno in Tuscany and named after Giuseppe Galliano, an Italian hero of the First Italo-Ethiopian War. Its vivid yellow color symbolizes the Gold Rushes of the 1890s.
Galliano has a large number of natural ingredients including vanilla, star anise, Mediterranean anise, ginger, citrus, juniper, musk yarrow, and lavender. Neutral alcohol is infused with the pressings from the herbs except vanilla. The liquid is distilled and then infused with pressed vanilla.

Galliano single handily re-vamped a dying cocktail industry during the early 1960s as the major ingredient of the spectacular creation of the "Harvey Wallbanger".

Chartreause 

ALC/VOL = 40% (Yellow)  - 55%  (Green) Alcohol
Chartreuse: is a French liqueur made by the Carthusia Monks since 1737 according to the instructions set out in the secret manuscript given to them by François Annibal d'Estrées in 1605. It is composed of distilled alcohol aged with 130 herbs, plants and flowers. The liqueur is named after the Monks' Grande Chartreus monastery, located in the Chartreuse Mountains in the general region of Grenoble in France. The liqueur is produced in their distillery in the nearby town of Voiron (Isère).

Chartreuse gives its name to the color chartreuse. It is one of the handful of liquors that continues to age and improve in the bottle.
