Canadian Club Whisky
Canadian Club's history is more colourful than most.
From its humble beginnings in 1858 when it was known as Club Whisky and sold predominantly in Gentleman's Clubs. Through to the Civil War and even a dash of good natured smuggling during the prohibition days. Now CC is sold in more than 150 countries worldwide.
Walkerville, Ont. -- Forty-six years after William Hull crossed the Detroit River with a small army in a failed bid to liberate Canada during the War of 1812, another ambitious American landed on the same spot looking for freedom.
Detroit businessman Hiram Walker saw the Canadian side of the river as having everything necessary to produce the style of whisky he hoped to make.
