Gin Fizz
40ml Gin
25ml lemon juice
1 tsp fine white sugar
top with soda water
The first known recorded recipe of this sour style drink was found in the 1887 edition of Jerry Thomas's Bartenders Guide. The fizz originated in New Orleans and became popular throughout the United States between
1900 and 1940. There are many variations. See Fizzes".
Shake all ingredients except the soda water with ice and strain into an ice filled rocks style glass.
Decorate/Garnish with slice of lemon and a cherry.
