60ml Bourbon
30ml sugar syrup
9 mint leaves
crushed ice

Perhaps the most celebrated drink around the Mississippi area of the United States where it was common practice for families to stop working in the afternoon and partake in this refreshing beverage.  
Place mint leaves into glass or silver tankard with sugar and muddle until juices from the leaves are extracted.
Pour in half of bourbon and fill with crushed ice.
Stir until glass is very cold and bringing mint leaves up through ice.
Add the remainder of the bourbon and top with more crushed ice.
Serve with straws.
