Sazarac Cocktail
60ml Rye Whisky
10ml sugar syrup
3 dashes of Peychaud's Bitters
3 dashes of Absinthe

The original drink of New Orleans, which demonstrates an unusual way of mixing. Originally made with brandy, it is now common to use American whiskey. Add the sugar syrup to an ice filled old-fashioned style glass and splash in the bitters.
Measure in the whisky and stir gently.
Lightly coat the inside of another similar small glass with absinthe, before straining the rest of the cocktail from the first glass into the second.
Decorate/Garnish with a twist of lemon.
